What we can and can't claim
The required FDA statement, in full, plus the medical disclaimer that goes with it. Both are here because they're true, not because a lawyer asked for them.
The FDA statement
Required on every dietary supplement sold in the United States, and printed here in full and unaltered:
These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
It appears in the footer of every page on this site, on the label of every product, and anywhere we describe what an ingredient does.
What that actually means
Dietary supplements are not approved by the FDA the way medicines are. There is no pre-market approval process to pass. Responsibility for what is in the container, and for whether the label is honest about it, sits with whoever manufactured and sold it.
Which is why every batch of ours goes to an independent laboratory before it ships, and why we'll send you the certificate for the batch number on your pack if you ask for it. It doesn't turn a supplement into a medicine — nothing does — but it does mean the claim on the label is checkable.
The claims we make are structure–function claims: statements about how a nutrient supports a normal structure or function of the body. They are not claims to treat, prevent or cure anything, and we won't make one.
This is not medical advice
Nothing on this website — product pages, the ingredient library, the journal, the FAQ, an email from us, or anything else we publish — is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. It is general information about what is in our products and what the research on those ingredients broadly shows.
It cannot take account of your medical history, your prescriptions, your allergies or your circumstances, because we don't know any of them. Only a qualified healthcare professional who does can tell you whether a supplement is a sensible idea for you.
Never delay seeking medical advice, or disregard advice you've already been given, because of something you read here.
Talk to a professional first if
Any of these apply to you. Take the label with you — every dose is printed on it, which makes it a short conversation rather than a vague one.
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding
- Or trying to conceive.
- You take prescribed medication
- Including anything for blood pressure, blood thinning, thyroid function, diabetes or hormone therapy.Interactions are the reason to ask, and they aren't always obvious from the ingredient name.
- You have a diagnosed condition
- Or you're waiting on a diagnosis, or due surgery.
- You have allergies
- Our marine collagen is made from fish. It is not vegetarian or vegan and it is not suitable with a fish allergy.Full ingredient and allergen information is on each product page and on the pack.
- You're buying for someone under 18
- Our products are formulated for adults and aren't intended for children.
Using the products safely
Take the amount on the label and no more — with supplements, more is not better, and for some nutrients it is actively worse. Keep them out of reach of children. Don't use a product after the date on the pack, or if the seal is broken when it arrives.
Supplements go alongside a varied diet, not instead of one.
If you have an adverse reaction, stop taking it and speak to a healthcare professional. Then tell us — with the batch number if you have it. We want to know, and we're required to keep a record of it.
In an emergency
If you think you're having a serious reaction, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. For suspected poisoning or an accidental overdose in the US, Poison Control is 1-800-222-1222, free and open every hour of the day.
Results, and what we can honestly say about them
Anything we say about how long something takes, or what you might notice, describes what has been observed across groups of people in published research. It is not a prediction about you, and we don't have a way of making one.
Individual results vary — with age, diet, sleep, sun exposure, hormones, genetics, and how consistently a routine is actually kept. Where we cite research, we say what population it was run in, and we link it so you can read it rather than take our summary on trust.
Customer reviews and testimonials on this site are individual experiences. They are not typical results and they are not evidence of what will happen for anyone else.
The site itself
We work to keep everything here accurate and current, and we correct what we get wrong. We don't warrant that every page is complete, error-free or up to date at any given moment, and formulations, labels and research all change.
Where we link to another organisation's site or research, we don't control what's on it and we aren't responsible for it. A link is not an endorsement of everything the destination says.
If you spot something on this site that's wrong, tell us. We'd rather fix it than defend it.
